Can A Counter Economy Defeat The Biosecurity State?

Walkouts, sickouts, and strikes are becoming frequent tactics deployed by the unvaccinated to fight against mandates which are coming from seemingly every direction. Small victories have resulted from these actions but the pressure to get injected is still mounting. If this pressure boils over where will people go? Ideally, into the counter economy.

This chapter in the story of tyranny which has unfolded over the last 20 months begins with Joe Biden’s mandate requiring that federal government employees and contractors be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, and his claim the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will create a rule for private businesses with 100 or more employees to require their employees to be vaccinated or undergo weekly testing. The whole thing might be a giant bluff on the government’s part but some in corporate America took the orders seriously enough to tell their employees that they either get jabbed or find a new job.

One of the companies which grabbed the most headlines in the wake of this announcement was Southwest Airlines. The airline, like many companies, announced plans to place  employees who have not been injected and who do not have approved exemptions on unpaid leave. Shortly after this announcement, the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association asked a court to grant a temporary stay against the federal vaccination rules. Major disruptions followed days later when employees we’re believed to have staged a sickout (calling out sick from work en masse) forcing the airline to cancel around 2,000 flights in a single weekend. Southwest blamed the cancelations on poor weather conditions and air traffic control issues though this didn’t seem to impact other carriers.

Though the request for a stay against the mandates was rejected by a federal judge, the airline eventually backed down from their original plans. Slightly that is. Instead of placing those employees on unpaid leave the airline is giving them until until November 24 to finish their vaccinations or apply for an exemption and in that time they would still be paid. One aspect of this story less reported on is the fact that all new hires must be injected to be considered for a job so going forward all employees of the carrier will need the injections making any possible exemptions nearly moot.

This story isn’t unique to the airline industry. In Chicago, police and other city employees have until Friday to submit to the mayor’s mandate or be placed on unpaid leave. Thousands of health care workers have already lost their jobs in New York over a similar mandate which adds to the tally of tens of thousands who have already deserted the industry during the so-called pandemic. Teachers in Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, and elsewhere are all being placed on unpaid leave over their refusal to comply. Fortune 500 companies from Facebook to Ford, Goldman Sachs to Google, are all instituting their own policies.

There is of course resistance to these mandates as there have been throughout the last 20 months. The Chicago police union boss is calling for open rebellion against the mayor’s mandate. Governors across the country are telling first responders to come work in their states where such mandates will not be put in place. Courts are being packed with lawsuits fighting against these ridiculous orders.

Maybe some short-term victories will emerge from this defiance but we should not trust that the same system which imposed this tyranny will be the same one which restores liberty. The long term solution is the creation of a counter economy for those unwilling to play a part in the biosecurity state.

The counter economy, as defined by Samuel Edward Konkin III, is the study and/or practice of all peaceful human action which is forbidden by the State. In these strange times working in the mainstream economy without injecting yourself with an experimental concoction is becoming increasingly forbidden. The solution therefore to create a counter economy where this is not a concern.

Pilots can leave Southwest and American and fly charter planes. Teachers can drop out of public education and enter the world of private schools or homeschooling. The skills held by policemen, nurses, and first responders are heavily desired outside of the purview of the public sector. Likewise, they are clearly valued in places like Florida where these people could work without needing to inject themselves with anything. Job sites like and are making it possible for blue and white collar workers to go where bodily integrity will be respected. Better yet, why not become self employed and offer your skills to the world on an individual level? Even further than that, why not accept something other than fiat currency for your services to starve the system?

All of this is easier said than done. People need to put food on their tables and roofs over their head but failure to not build this new economy will result in waves of misery still to come.

The same elite who created the problem, first with lockdowns and now with medical martial law, will continue to watch society’s reaction to economic turmoil and supply chain breakdowns, then present their pre-conceived solutions to society’s inevitable disintegration which allows them to seize power and wealth through measures such as brining in the National Guard to fill the rolls once held by regular people while automating as many other jobs as they can, and ushering in Central Bank Digital Currencies and social credit scores on the other side of the collapse.

There is no lawsuit or counter-mandate or executive order that is going to save people from the biosecurity state. A counter economy where people can live and work outside of it is where we’ll find freedom.
